KIDS

Fundraise for KIDS. When the world says we can't, kids say we can.

About us

Thank you so much for choosing to fundraise for KIDS.

Your support will help to provide a wide range of services for disabled children, young people and their families and we simply couldn’t do it without you. KIDS was launched in 1970, when teacher John Mulcahy, working with a disabled child in his class and the child’s mother, discovered what practical support would fill the gaps in provision that the child and family needed. Over fifty years on, we continue to learn from disabled children, young people and their families.

In 2021 we delivered over 190,000 hours of support to around 12,000 disabled children, young people and family members. Commissioners and users appreciate the high quality of our information, advice and mediation services and 96% of parents say they are happy with the KIDS services they receive.

Disabled children’s services were already chronically underfunded and Covid has brought new pressures. We know that our services are vital for our families, and we are determined to continue to support them. However, we currently spend more on providing services than we receive. This is why you are such an important part of helping disabled children, young people and their families to enjoy equal rights and opportunities. We desperately need more people like you to fundraise, donate and advocate for KIDS so we can continue our services and make plans to expand and transform our support for families.

With many exciting innovations ahead of us, support from people like you is vital to help make our ambitious plans happen. By choosing to fundraise for KIDS, you will become part of a community of supporters who are all helping us to continue our work alongside disabled children, young people and their families.
